Vintage British Suit – 1960s SL-BF41

This is classic 1960s British 3-button suit, made by one the UK’s most respected menswear brands, Burtons. The jacket does not have rear vents and the trousers have a two forward-facing pleats and a button fly. The slim lapels and slim trousers, so popular in the ‘Mod’ era, make this a perfect suit for the man wanting classic tailoring with just enough authentic vintage style to be dressed-up for a ‘vintage look’ or dressed-down to fit seamlessly into the modern world.

Size: Medium – Size 40/42 - Jacket: Chest = 22 inches pit-to-pit. Sleeve = 26 inches. Back Length = 30 inches. Trousers: Waist = 32 inches (+ 3 inches to let out). Hem = 9.5 inches. Front Rise = 14 inches. Rear Rise = 19.5 inches. Inside leg= 27 (+0.5 to let down – more, if the turn-up are sacrificed). Please note, suits in this era were cut generously on the chest, meaning the chest to waist ratio appears more than might be expected. Adding a contrast waistcoat will make all the difference.

Condition: Good – there are two small, nearly invisible, moth holes on lower right leg and a small stain on the left sleeve, apart from that the suit is in fantastic condition.
